GSG Oil Company has developed the Whistleblower Policy to demonstrate its commitment to open and accountable management. This policy is designed to allow staff or any other stakeholders within GSG to disclose information that they believe shows malpractice, unethical conduct, or illegal practices in the workplace, without being penalized in any way.

OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the GSG Oil Company whistle-blowing policy is to help GSG Oil Company exercise its duty of trust to protect its resources and employees from behaviors that do not adhere to its values and employee Code of Conduct.

By blowing the whistle on misconduct in the company, one alerts the organization to the fact that its stakeholders are being put at risk or have been, or are being, harmed.

The policy encourages all employees and its stakeholders to disclose in good faith, that is, without malice, any genuine suspicion they have of serious malpractice taking place within GSG Oil Company involving employees, consultants, volunteers, interns, or organizations with which its contracts that may adversely impact the GSG Oil Company, the GSG’ Partners, employees, development partners, or the public at large.

A person who Speaks-Up is known as a “whistleblower” and is defined as anyone who makes, or attempts to make, a report about Misconduct under this Standard or any person who discloses wrongdoing according to the Whistleblower and Witness Protection Act, 2015.

  • is otherwise prescribed by regulations under Relevant Legislation to be a disclosable matter.
  • the disclosure of the information may assist the recipient of the information in performing his or her functions or duties in relation to the affairs of GSG Oil Company.

GSG Oil Company continually works with various partners to contribute; and provide material, education & vocational support to vulnerable groups such as orphans, youth, women’s groups, and the physically; and mentally challenged as well as supporting community-based projects & enterprises and we are working in one line on climate change, and we installed a solar energy system in our fuel services station to reduce pollution.

We continually engage in tree planting, water conservation & anti-soil erosion projects throughout all regions of operation to ensure we play our part in a cleaner, safer future environment.

It is the policy of GSG Oil Company that directors, officers, and employees are expected to protect the assets of the Corporation and use them efficiently to advance the interests of the Corporation. Those assets include tangible assets and intangible assets, such as confidential information of the Corporation or personal information held by the Corporation. No director, officer, or employee should use or disclose at any time during or after employment or another service to the Corporation, without proper authority or mandate, personal or confidential information obtained from any source during the Corporation’s business. Examples of confidential information include public information about the Corporation’s plans, earnings, financial forecasts, business forecasts, discoveries, competitive bids, technologies, and personnel.

It is the policy of GSG Oil Company to base commercial decisions on commercial criteria. That policy serves the Corporation’s business interests and fosters constructive relationships with organizations and individuals doing business, or seeking to do business, with the Corporation. In many cultures, those constructive relationships may include incidental business gifts and entertainment. Directors, officers, employees, and third parties acting on behalf of the Corporation providing or receiving third-party gifts and entertainment in their corporate capacities are expected to exercise good judgment in each case, taking into account pertinent circumstances, including the character of the gift or entertainment, its purpose, its appearance, the positions of the persons providing and receiving the gift or entertainment, the business context, reciprocity, and applicable laws and social norms. Gifts and entertainment must not be intended to create an improper advantage for the Corporation. All expenditures for gifts and entertainment provided by the Corporation must be accurately recorded in the books and records of the Corporation

 It is the policy of GSG Oil Company that the director, officers, employees, and third parties acting on its behalf are prohibited from offering or paying, directly or indirectly, any bribe to any employee, official, or agent of any government, commercial entity, or individual in connection with the business or activities of the Corporation. A bribe for purposes of this policy is any money, goods, services, or other thing of value offered or given with the intent to gain any improper advantage for the Corporation. No director, officer, employee, or third party should assume that the Corporation’s interest ever requires otherwise.

It is GSG Oil Company’s policy to:

  • Identify and evaluate health risks related to its operations that potentially affect its employees, contractors, or the public.
  • Implement programs and appropriate protective measures to control such risks, including appropriate monitoring of its potentially affected employees.
  • Communicate reasonably to potentially affected individuals or organizations and the scientific c community knowledge about health risks gained from its health programs and related studies.
  • Determine at the time of employment and thereafter, as appropriate, the medical fitness of employees to do their work without undue risk to themselves or others.
  • Provide or arrange for medical services necessary for the treatment of employee occupational illnesses or injuries and the handling of medical emergencies.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations and apply responsible standards where laws and regulations do not exist.
  • Work with government agencies and others to develop responsible laws, regulations, and standards based on sound science and consideration of risk.
  • Conduct and support research to extend knowledge about the health effects of its operations.
  • Undertake appropriate reviews and evaluations of its operations to measure progress and foster compliance with this policy.
  • Provide voluntary health promotion programs designed to enhance employees’ well-being, productivity, and personal safety. These programs should supplement, but not interfere.

  • Comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations and apply responsible standards where laws and regulations do not exist.
  • Encourage concern and respect for the environment, emphasize every employee’s responsibility in environmental performance, and foster appropriate operating practices and training;
  • Work with government and industry groups to foster the timely development of effective environmental laws and regulations based on sound science and consider risks, costs, and benefits, including effects on energy and product supply.
  • Manage its business to prevent incidents and control emissions and wastes to below harmful levels; design, operate, and maintain facilities to this end.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to incidents resulting from its operations, in cooperation with industry organizations and authorized government agencies.
  • Conduct and support research to improve understanding of the impact of its business on the environment, to improve methods of environmental protection, and to enhance its capability to make operations and products compatible with the environment.
  • Communicate with the public on environmental matters and share its

experience with others to facilitate improvements in industry performance.

  • Design and maintain facilities, establish management systems, provide training, and conduct operations in a manner that safeguards people and property.
  • Respond quickly, effectively, and with care to emergencies or accidents resulting from its operations, in cooperation with industry organizations and authorized government agencies.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations and apply responsible standards where laws and regulations do not exist.
  • Work with government agencies and others to develop responsible laws, regulations, and standards based on sound science and consideration of risk.
  • Conduct and support research to extend knowledge about the safety effects of its operations, and promptly apply significant findings and, as appropriate, share them with employees, contractors, government agencies, and others who might be affected.
  • Stress to all employees, contractors, and others working on its behalf their responsibility and accountability for safe performance on the job and encourage safe behaviors off the job.
  • Undertake appropriate reviews and evaluations of its operations to measure progress and foster compliance with this policy.

Mindful of its responsibility to the consumers it serves directly and the customers who resell its products, the Corporation strives to understand their requirements and concerns and to merit their business by responding effectively to their needs. Specifically, the Corporation’s policy is to: –

  • Provide high-quality products that meet or exceed equipment specifications and consumer needs under all reasonable circumstances.
  • Furnish services that reliably meet responsible standards of performance, efficiency, and courtesy.
  • Furnish accurate and sufficient information about its products and services, including details of guarantees and warranties, so that customers can make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Require truth in advertising and other communications. In addition, where the Corporation’s products reach the ultimate consumer through independent parties, such as service station dealers and distributors, the Corporation’s policy is to actively encourage such parties to achieve standards comparable to those that have been established for the Corporation’s own performance.
